-
Subsidising CRY's
Screening Programme, including mobile screening clinics and
established clinics around the UK.
-
Providing all our
literature free on request - our
stationery and postal charges are significant.
-
Running annual CRY events - the CRY
International Conference,
Parliamentary Reception, Family
Medical Conference, Regional Bereavement
Support Days, Surgery Supporters Club meetings, etc
-
Financing the expenses of our
Divisional Representatives
and other CRY Volunteers.
-
Our printing costs are growing in line with CRY's
development and
we heavily subsidise the production and postage of four CRY magazines
every year. We currently spend at least £150 a month on the purchase of paper
alone.
-
Our quarterly telephone charges reflect the
development of CRY. Our remit is service driven and we will always
return calls to Volunteers or those seeking counselling and support, at
their convenience.
-
Running the CRY
Bereavement Support Programme.
This was initially subsidised via a 3 year grant from the Department
of Health, but is now dependent on CRY core funding.
-
We have to pay rent, lighting, heating,
water, etc.
-
We have various pieces of
office equipment - i.e. fax machine, printers, photocopiers, computers – all
of which require the appropriate paper, ink cartridges, software, disks
and maintenance.
-
We have a growing
number of salaried posts at CRY
-
We give grants for certain initiatives -
e.g. to fund full-time Research Fellows;
and to facilitate a fast-track expert
cardiac pathology service.
-
We have copyright costs, general insurance, and
indemnity insurance cover for our screening programme.
-
We maintain and insure a Mobile Screening Van
which was donated in 1999. The
costs of running this are high, but it is an essential part of our work.
The CRY van will also need to be replaced with a newer model in due
course.
