Parents of teenagers who have died from
unexplained heart conditions are urging young people in the West Midlands to
undergo a test to avoid similar tragedies.
The Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity is
staging a weekend of free electro-cardiogram screenings at the Summerfield
GP and Urgent Care Centre in Winson Green on March 26 - 27.
"It's so important for youngsters to get checked
out because it could help to make a difference," said Roy Ball, whose son
Andrew, collapsed while playing football when he was just 16 years old.
Mr Ball, of Cofton Hackett, said the weekend tests were being staged in
memory of young victims. Twelve young people die each week in the UK from
cardiac problems.
Anyone aged 14 - 35 wishing to book a test should
