Family and friends pulled on their running shoes
in memory of a Bognor Regis teenager.
Forty family and friends of 19-year-old David
Green, who died last December from an undiagnosed hereditary heart
condition, dug out their trainers and took part in Sunday's 2011 Bognor Prom
10K Race.
Dubbed "Team David", the runners raised more than
£3,000 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
David's mum Gabby Broadhurst said: "It was a
brilliant day. Everyone did really well.
"We all ran together and some people managed
really good times. My sister, who is not a keen runner, walked around
the course, and my brother who ran the race with David, managed a time of 52
minutes.
"It was very emotional as we all wore T-shirts
with David's picture on, and David had run the race himself.
"So far we have raised more than £3,000, which we
were not expecting. After the race people just came up to us and gave
us donations. It was incredible."
Sunday's fundraising effort was the latest in a
series of event David's family and friends have been involved with.
Gabby will be running in the Great North Run as
part of the CRY team and hopes to raise even more funds.
