Concert tribute to Daniel

Bolton News -  13th June 2009

Performers are joining forces to raise cash in memory of a teenager who died during a football match in 2005.

Daniel Young suffered a fatal heart attack in Atherton when he collapsed on the pitch minutes after scoring a goal.

In tribute to Daniel, Squeeze lead singer Glenn Tylbrook is to perform on the same bill as Atherton band As Is and comedian Lee Roberts.

Friends and relatives are organising the show to  help awareness group Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), which buys medical equipment to detect medical conditions in youngsters.

Tickets are now on sale for the August 28 bash at Formby Hall, Atherton.

They cost £30 in advance and are available from organiser Martin Morris on (01942) 876 099.  All proceeds go to CRY.
