Family step out in memory of Ryan

Bromley News -  5th April 2008

Brave Nicola Acuta and her friends took a heartbreak walk down Memory Lane - or across eight London Bridges to be precise - last weekend to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Nicola and her late fiancé's parents made their emotional trek to support CRY after Nicola's 27-year-old fiancé Ryan died from a heart attack while holidaying in Thailand.

They are pictured (from left to right).  John and Barbara Darby (Ryan's parents), Nicola and Ryan's four-year-old son, Harley, and her two sisters, Leighann and Claire Acuta.

And last night all of them said a public thank you to all the people in Bromley and beyond who helped them raise a staggering £10,000 for the charity over the last year.

The annual fundraising event invited families, supporters and anyone whose lives have been affected by sudden cardiac death in the young in the 8km walk across eight of London's most famous bridges.
