A teenage fundraiser has reason to be cheerful, after her charity book sold out its entire first run of 2,500 copies in record time. 

Julie Tanner, 13, is behind 101 Reasons To Get Up in the Morning, which contains the favourite inspirational quotations from celebrities. 

Julie, of Dale Hill, Kirby-le-Soken, approached more than 400 celebrities to see what inspired them. 

The result was a book including contributions from the late Pope John Paul II, Prime Minister Tony Blair, tennis legend John McEnroe and actor Hugh Grant. 

All the copies were sold within two months. 

The book looks set to raise thousands of pounds for CRY, the charity working to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in the young, which kills 3,500 people each year in the UK, many while playing sport. 

It was inspired by the death of a family friend, Andy Gard, who died suddenly the day before his 18th birthday, when Julie was five. 

Julie, a pupil at Colchester County High School for Girls, spent more than a year collecting the quotes, but her proud dad, Eddie, said the national recognition her work has brought has not changed her. 

He said: "It has not gone to her head at all. 

"Also, apart from the money, it's achieved a tremendous amount of publicity for CRY." 

A second run of the book will now be produced.
