Pupils at Sir William Stanier Community School
have met Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson to share with him their ideas
of how to re-develop Crewe town centre.
They also discussed their views on plans to move
Crewe Station to Basford Sidlings, following his tour of the school and a
look at plans for the new school building to replace Coppenhall and Victoria
high schools.
Mr Timpson said he thoroughly enjoyed listening to
the Year 8 pupils' ideas.
"It was great to see how young people are taking
an active interest in the re-development of their town - something that
should definitely be encouraged."
He also congratulated them on raising £300 for the
charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
A school spokeswoman said the children enjoyed
meeting their new MP.
