CRY Medical Information DVD for Ambulance Staff

The CRY Medical Information DVD is the result of a project instigated by Gareth Mallon of the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Initially aimed at educating ambulance crews about appropriate action to take when they encounter a young person who has suffered cardiac arrest, the DVD is also now being distributed free of charge to many other health professionals and members of the public.

The DVD contains a wealth of information about heart conditions that can cause young sudden cardiac death, in the form of short video clips.

In these clips, CRY Consultant Cardiologist Professor Sanjay Sharma gives details about the various cardiac conditions, including possible symptoms (if any), diagnostic techniques and types of treatment available.

All the content from the DVD can be found on CRY’s YouTube channel and you can also request to be sent a FREE copy of the DVD by contacting the CRY office – call 01737 363222 or email cry@c-r-y.org.uk

The DVD was officially launched at the 2010 CRY Parliamentary Reception; and since then Gareth Mallon has also written an article for The Journal of Paramedic Practice, discussing his involvement with CRY and exploring why young sudden cardiac death is an important topic for ambulance crews.
