The family of a young footballer and Derby County
fan who died from sudden adult death syndrome are to raise money for
national charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Ashley Jessop, of Swan Hill, Mickleover, was found
dead at home, aged 25, hours after playing a five-a-side game with friends.
The former John Port School pupil had played at
the DW Sports complex at Pride Park on November 11 and returned home at
around 11pm.
The next morning, his mother Dee went into his
bedroom, where she found him dead in his bed.
His father, Dean and aunt, Tracey, have now
organised a fundraising event at the Number Five bar in George Street,
Derby, tomorrow.
The event, which starts at 3pm, will feature live
music, food and a raffle.
Among the prizes are signed Derby County Football
Club shirts.
Tracey, 52, of Kirk Langley, said: "It should be a
nice event and we want to raise what we can for Cardiac Risk in the Young."!
Cardiac Risk in the Young was set up to raise
awareness and provide information about sudden adult death syndrome.
