The songs feature a
host of musicians from the North East who gave their time
freely to support the project.
Steve explains, "Since
losing a friend in 2002 to one of these silent cardiac
conditions that kill so many young people in the UK every
year, I’ve wanted to write a song for CRY".
The title track also
features Bon Achord, a local 16-member choir from County
Durham who performed with Steve and his band at the
regional launch party for the CD on October 7th in the
Jubilee Hall, West Rainton, Durham from 7pm.
Steve adds, "I hope
the song acknowledges the inevitable sadness that is felt,
but also the importance of treasuring those things that are
left to you and celebrating a life, however young."
"It was
difficult to write but I hope people will find it easy to
relate to".
The CD was recorded at
Quayside Studios in Newcastle, mixed by Julien Batten and
Produced by Steve and Will Lang.
