Syko's family to run for cardiac charity

Dover Express - 16th February 2006 

 

Relatives of former Dover Athletic striker Paul "Syko" Sykes will run the London Marathon on April 23 to raise money for the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity. 

 

Brothers Peter and Patrick Sykes will brave the 26-mile event to raise awareness of Sudden Death Syndrome. 

 

Former Whites' striker Paul fell to the ground 30 minutes into a match between Folkestone Invicta and Margate on Tuesday April 14 last year.  It was later discovered he had a heart defect. 

 

both Peter and Patrick hope to raise £1,200 each.  A quiz and raffle will be held in the Centre Sot at the Whites' Crabble Athletic ground on Saturday, March 25.
