Eastbourne Herald  - 6th July 2007

A football club has donated a vital piece of medical equipment to the DGH after raising money at a charity match.

Eastbourne United Football Association held the match last summer at the Oval football ground in liaison with the Jeremy Cole Memorial Fund and the CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) charity.

The ECG machine will be sited in the medical assessment unit at the DGH in memory of Jeremy, who died suddenly from an undetected heart condition aged 14 in October 1995.

His parents, Jenny and Nigel, said: "On behalf of CRY we would like to thank the Eastbourne United Football Association for its tremendous support in purchasing what is a vital piece of medical equipment that will be put to very good use for the benefit of the people of Eastbourne and the surrounding area."

The machine will be used to assist in the diagnosis of anyone admitted to the unit with suspected cardiac difficulties.
