Mayor Graham Marsden organised a charity fitness challenge in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). 

The event, held in the Arndale Centre at the weekend, saw teams of young people from Cavendish School, Park College, Eastbourne Rowing Club, Eastbourne Police Cadets and the University of Brighton compete on fitness equipment in order to promote the importance of exercise and the need for research into Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.  The participants had personal sponsorship pledges and a collection was also made on the day, with a grand total of £600 being raised.
