A pair of joggers from Enfield are appealing for
sponsors as they raise they game to take on the London Marathon.
Alison Pearson, 41, and Leonie Madigan, 24, who
both work at BM Polyco, in Crown Road, Enfield, began running earlier this
year after work, but decided to up the ante in a bid to raise at least
£3,000 for medical research charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Alison, of Percival Road, Enfield, told the
Advertiser: "We started running just three miles after work and then we just
kept increasing the distance. We train three mornings a week and do a
long run at the weekend.
"We are not allowing ourselves anything naughty
from the new year until the race in April, because when you're training you
have to watch what you eat.
If we finish in under five hours, we will be over
the moon."
As well as asking for sponsorship from friends and
family, the pair have organised several fundraisers including a film night
for work colleagues.
