A former junior Wolves player has joined forces
with staff from a Staffordshire leisure centre in an ambitious plan to race
more than 3,000 miles across America to raise money for charity.
Endurance athlete Clive Middleton is planning to
take part in the Race Across America event next month as part of a four-man
team with help from Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre gym manager Paul Taylor.
The team will cycle a total of 3,043 miles across
the United States and will have to endure gruelling stages as well as sleep
deprivation. Mr. Middleton, who was on the books at the Molineux in
the 1970s, is putting the final touches to his preparations for the race
which starts on Jun 11.
The 17-strong team will be raising money for
charity Cardiac Risk in the Young. Donate at

Meanwhile, Joe Tyler, aged 20, from Foxtail Way in
Wimblebury, will run for the Loch Ness Marathon in October for the
Parkinson' Disease Society. See
