Generous firefighters will be raising the roof
– and cash – at a charity event in a village near Stourbridge.
Crews will be entertained by
six of their own colleagues who make up the band Rogues Gallery.
The music event is being
staged at West One in Hagley on October 10.
Firefighter Gary Taylor, who
works from Dudley and Tipton fire stations, said crews held an annual
fundraising bash, and this year’s event would be in aid of the charity CRY –
Cardiac Risk in the Young.
He said colleagues at the
station had become fans of the Hagley restaurant and were talking about the
fundraising event one night when owner Christophe Masset heard them and
offered to host the event.
Firefighter Peter Evans, who
is based at Tipton fire station, is a member of Rogues Gallery and said the
band was looking forward to playing.
The group, which performs
covers of 60’s and 70’s hits, is made up of lead guitarist Peter Evans, rhythm
guitarist Terry Garrrett, bass player Ivor Davies, drummer Nick Davis,
keyboardist Martin Marriott and vocalist Loz Nelson.
