Faye Linton

Faye was only 25 years of age when she so suddenly died.

She was within days of going on a ‘once in a lifetime’ holiday to America when we found her dead in bed on the morning of 30th October 2006.

The doctors knew that Faye had a heart block problem, but as she had a pacemaker fitted less than six months previously they were happy for her to go to America.

She was a beautiful, happy, kind and hard working young woman. She worked in a very busy call centre for Barclays Bank, in the business section.

As you can imagine, her loss has devastated her family and friends.

An inquest was held into Faye’s death and an extremely rare microscopic tumour was found in Faye’s heart. She was only the 18th person ever known to have this tumour, and all 18 had been found at post mortem.

Making her even more unique, the other cases had all suffered from numerous other medical problems, whereas Faye did not.

On 3rd November 2007 we held a memorial charity night in honour of Faye. We were thrilled with the £3725.60 collected on the night through ticket sales, raffles and an auction.

We hope that this donation will support CRY in its efforts to assist research into these conditions. We fear that someone, somewhere is walking about oblivious to the fact that they have a condition like Faye’s – and this could happen to another unsuspecting family.
