12-mile pub crawl all in a good cause

Flintshire Evening Leader - 3rd June 2004

A group of friends from Mold will walk 12 miles and enjoy a tipple as they visit 11 pubs along the way to raise funds for a local charity.

Leila Tudor, 26, sister Rhiannon, 28, and step mum Julie, along with 10 friends, hope to boost funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) when they take part in an annual Beer Walk in Saddleworth.

Leila said: “We did it three years ago so thought we’d do it again to raise the money for CRY.

“We will go from pub to pub in Saddleworth.  It’s free and should be really good fun and it’s for charity.

“We all aim to raise between £50 and £100 each.”

CRY offers help, support and counselling to families where there has been a sudden cardiac death of an apparently fit and healthy young person.

Anybody who would like to sponsor Leila and her friends should contact CRY on 01737 363222 or www.c-r-y.org.uk
