The Frome Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Frome, held their Annual Harvest Thanksgiving recently, raising £710 for the Julian Wort Memorial Fund at CRY. 

The event was held at Standerwick Market on Thursday 6^th October, and a total of £710 was raised for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). 

The evening commenced with a service led by the Rev. Rob Widowson, the hymns were accompanied by Rotary president Kim Hyde on keyboard. 

Shirley Wort then explained how Julian, her son, had died at the age of 28 years of age from sudden death syndrome and how CRY and raising money for this charity was helping the family come to terms with Julian’s death. 

A tasty ploughman’s was served before the business of selling the wonderful array of produce.  Rotarian Dennis Barnard did the auctioneering with his usual skill and amusing banter. 

Inner Wheel president, Hazel Shaw, thanked Dennis for his kind generosity, Gwen Barnard, Deanna Barnes and their committee for their sterling work and for making the evening a great success, especially all who had brought and bought the produce.
