Graham Keene's South West Walk in memory of Robert Lancaster

21st May to 6th July 2008

The South West Coast Path is Britain's longest National Trail, running from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point near Poole Dorset. The path includes two UNESCO World Heritage sites; The Jurassic Coast plus the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape

Minehead to Poole 1014km/630 miles

A continuous path around the whole of Devon and Cornwall, and much of Dorset and Somerset. Although not challenging in the sense that it is not remote, there are many steep climbs and descents with fantastic views.

I undertook this walk in memory of Robert Lancaster, the son of good friends, who very sadly collapsed and died whilst skiing with his parents last year.

A huge 'thank you' to all friends and family who took time out of busy lives to journey down and share some of England's finest coastal scenery with me.

It's been a marvellous experience and if you wish to read about some of the people and the walks we have had together, and see plenty of great photos, then visit www.mysouthwestwalk.co.uk/blog/

So far, over £3600 has been raised for CRY, and you can still sponsor me at www.justgiving.com/mysouthwestwalk
