Great North Run in memory of Jennifer Hawes

1st October 2006

Recently I lost one of my best friends, Jennifer Hawes.  All they found out was that her heart just suddenly stopped. She was only 23.

Jen touched so many peoples lives it really is quite incredible.

She lived life completely to the full and experienced more than the average person would in 3 times the years she did.

I really believe she put everything into every aspect of her life including her beloved family John, Marilyn, David and Elisabeth; her friends; and the boyfriend she wanted to spend the rest of her life with - Mark.

Jen Died in January 2006 whilst travelling in Australia with Mark, due to a heart failure, which is why I am doing the challenge of running the 'Great North Run' on October 1st AND the 'London Marathon 2007' for CRY.

I completed the Great North Run on October 1st in 2hours 17minutes.

This is the photo (right) that John and Marilyn Hawes took 400 metres from the finish line - notice the Red Arrows in the background.

Thanks for the support! By this point I needed the support - and the chocolate!

Sarah Harvey

In running the Great North Run, Sarah raised £1047 for CRY
