Big-hearted Lisa deserves our thanks

Harwich & Manningtree Standard - 16th July 2004

Lisa King is like many other girls her age.

She is 17, enjoys spending time with her friends and has a passion for horse riding.

But her journey to get there has been much harder than most after doctors discovered she had a hole in her heart when she was just 18 months old.

Now, Lisa is using her experiences and health problems to help other young people and their families who face similar difficulties.

She is training to be a counsellor for heart charity Cardiac Risk in Youth (CRY), which raises awareness about heart defects in the young.

Lisa’s example of using her hard times in a positive way is something we can all learn from.
