A charity close to a community's heart was the
real winner after a super-successful fun quiz and mega raffle.
Pints have been raised in honour of Phil and Gay
Sayer for hosting the fundraising events at their pub - the Hare and Hounds
in Nuneaton.
In what is a charity close to many hearts, the
couple were more than happy to let Steve Kinsella and his step mum Debbie
stage the fun quiz and mega raffle in aid of CRY - Cardiac Risk in the
Young.
Just over £530 was raised during the event, which
the landlord and landlady topped up to £550. The mega raffle alone
raised more than £325 with in excess of 35 prizes kindly donated by local
businesses and pub-regulars.
"It was a brilliant occasion," said organisers
Steve and Debbie.
"We would like to thank everyone who helped to
make it such a great success, without their support nights like this would
not be possible."
Steve, Debbie, landlord Phil Sayer and Wendy
Cahalin, quiz adjudicator, were on hand to hand over the funds to Pete and
Emma Keen. Tragically. Pete's daughter and Emma's sister, Claire, died
suddenly following hypertrophic cardiomopathy and they have made it their
mission to raise as much cash as possible for the charity CRY.
