Cyclists gear up for ride

Hertfordshire Mercury -  6th June 2008

Four Hertford friends will be cycling 900 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats, three of them in aid of charity.

Mike Aylott, 36, Adam Austin, 33, Steve Malusky, 42 and Chris Shatlock, 37, who are all members of cyclists' and runners' group Hartham Commoners, aim to travel from Cornwall to Scotland within 12 days.

Mike will be raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory of his fiancée Jane Star who died of a rare heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in May 2006, aged 33.

Steve and Chris will be supporting Hertfordshire Scouts.

The friends will be setting off next Saturday (June 14).
