Every week at least 8 apparently ‘fit and healthy’
young people under the age of 35 die suddenly of undetected heart conditions,
many while playing sport. So when Andy Gard, who used to babysit Julie
Tanner, dropped dead at the age of 17, his young friend contacted CRY - the
national heart charity that works to raise awareness
of cardiac risk in the young, offering counselling and raising funds for
cardiac screening.
