Kathryn Harries

"Like many of you, I've read about fit, young people dying without warning because of an undiagnosed heart condition. As a mother of two, I've barely dared to imagine the terrible grief of these youngsters' families and prayed that I might never have to endure such shocking bereavement. It didn't occur to me that there was something I could do to help.

Then I heard about CRY.  This fantastically energetic charity aims to make screening for heart conditions part of every young person's life. Our children are our future.  How can we let eight youngsters die every week of every month of every year and do nothing?

Join me as I sing and walk to raise funds and awareness. Help me help CRY help our young."

CRY Heart of London Bridges Walk - 20th July 2008

Following the success of CRY's inaugural Heart of London Bridges Sponsored Walk in 2007 the event took place again in 2008, with over 600 CRY supporters in attendance.  CRY Patron Kathryn Harries once again led the walk, crossing 8 London bridges - each bridge representing one of the 8 fit and healthy young people (aged 35 and under) who die suddenly each week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions.

CRY Parliamentary Reception, July 2007

On Wednesday July 11th CRY hosted its annual Parliamentary Reception at Westminster as part of its Raising Awareness Week.  We were delighted to have CRY Patrons David Walliams and Kathryn Harries as guests of honour. The event was attended by around 30 MPs who came to show their support for CRY’s campaigning.

CRY Heart of London Bridges Walk - July 2007

On July 15th, CRY Patron Kathryn Harries was joined by over 400 CRY supporters on a sponsored walk crossing 8 bridges from Westminster to Tower Bridge.  The 8 bridges each signified one of the 8 apparently 'fit and healthy' young people who die every week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions.
