Football fans show heart

Lancashire Evening Post - 2nd November 2005

A collection held in memory of a Preston man at Preston North End’s match against Leicester City on Saturday raised £731 for the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity.

Andrew Parr, from Fulwood, collapsed outside Tokyo Jo’s nightclub aged 21 from an undetected heart condition.

His mother Ruth Lowe is aiming to raise enough funds to bring a mobile screening unit for young people to Preston to help prevent further tragedies.  She said: “we would like to thank everybody who donated.”
