How to run for
CRY...
If you would like to
run the London Marathon and help raise money for CRY, your first step
should be to apply for a place through the London Marathon public ballot.
Details of how to apply for a place through the public ballot can be
found on the London
Marathon official website.
If you are successful
in getting a place through the London Marathon ballot, you will become one
of our CRY 'own place' runners.
Let us know that you have got a
place, and we will send you a pack containing information about CRY;
sponsor forms; media tips; and a selection of CRY goodies including a CRY
t-shirt or running vest (whichever you prefer) to wear on Marathon day.
Alternatively, if you
are looking for even more of a challenge, you might like to consider
wearing one of our CRY Heart costumes - as modelled by CRY Chairman and
former Olympic pentathlete, Professor Greg Whyte in the
picture at the top of this page.
If you are unsuccessful in getting your 'own
place' via the London Marathon ballot, then you can apply for one of CRY's Golden Bond charity places.
In order to qualify for a Golden
Bond place, you must pledge to raise a minimum amount in sponsorship money
for CRY.
For the 2008 London Marathon this minimum sponsorship
level was £1500.
To find out more about Golden Bond places, and
/ or to pre-register for one, go to
www.crunch.org.uk/cry.
