Kevin Hawker [2 hours 41
minutes]
"I feel really good - the rain cooled
me off.
The crowd were really good and I
would definitely
do it again for CRY.
The massage and hot shower were great
-
they helped me to feel fresh for work
next day!"

Martin Gleave [4 hours 6
minutes]
"Great afternoon, it feels so good.
Very pleased to have run for CRY. It was great to see my son sitting
on a friend's shoulders watching me run. I was very tired and stiff
later on, but it was a fantastic experience. It was great to have a
massage and shower back at the hotel, and I enjoyed meeting the
other runners and CRY team." |

Peter Sykes [3 hours 50 minutes]
"I pulled a hip muscle 2 months ago, but
the run was not too bad - I was pleasantly surprised. The time was
almost the same as I ran last time. The crowd were brilliant,
especially towards the end they really helped.
The thought of a shower and massage
really helped, brilliant." |
|

Alistair Holland [4 hours 15
minutes]
"My first marathon - I'm not saying
'never again' but it was a long way. I loved the atmosphere, great crowd
support.
The first 2 hours were easy - the second
2 hours hard; but absolutely worth it, and I will look back with
pride.
The shower/massage was a nice bonus." |

Yetunde Ekpe [5 hours 45 minutes]
"I found training difficult because of
work commitments.
The crowds were great and it felt
brilliant.
I would do it again - but not next
year!" |
|

Caroline Westwood [6 hours 4
minutes]
"I was running in memory of Katrina
Brown. I feel fine, but very sore! This was my first marathon…and my
last! It was worse than childbirth and the most challenging
thing I've ever done!" |

Sean Reading [4 hours 40 minutes]
"I'm really relieved and happy - I can
eat burgers again!
It was my first London marathon, though
I have done Great South Runs before.
I would do it again, but not next year -
maybe the year after." |
|

Jon Green [4 hours 30 minutes]
"I feel hot and cold. The crowd were
wonderful. I think CRY is a fantastic organisation - they looked
after me so well last time I ran for them that I chose them again.
The thought of a massage and shower at
the end is priceless." |

Naomi Newton-Fisher [5

"It feels good - really good and I would
definitely do it again.
This was my first marathon so its a
massive achievement!
I ran in memory of my father - he was 64
but I wanted
to run for CRY." |
|

Gav Copland [4 hours 14 minutes]
"I was running in memory of Chris Haw
and it was my first Marathon. I ate lots of Jelly Babies!
It was brilliant - I would definitely do
it again." |

Philip Butler
"I wanted to run in memory of my son,
Nathan.
I was a bit apprehensive beforehand and
wondered if I had made the right decision to walk the marathon in
the CRY heart
(I can't run because I'm under
investigation for HOCM).
I can only say what an absolutely
fantastic day it was, far beyond my wildest dreams! The crowd were
fantastic all along the route and because I was towards the back of
the runners there were not many of us so we had a bit of a banter
with the crowd and they were constantly shouting my name and
encouraging me to the point where I felt like celebrity!" |
|

Mark Turpin
"I'm in absolute agony today! (April
14th).
My knee went at 5 miles and I had to
stop running at 10 miles to hobble the last 16 - but still loved
every minute of it.
The atmosphere was superb and made for
an emotional day. The heart costume was fine to wear and very
light.
It even protected me from hailstones
around Canary Wharf!" |

Andy Holland [3 hours 45 minutes]
"I ran in memory of my brother Phil. My
legs are very tired and painful, but I would do it again.
It was hard as I injured my knee/ankle
in training." |
|

Damian Coe [5 hours 30 minutes]
"This was my first Marathon. I ran
in a CRY heart and was very pleased to get lots of attention!
I was really looking forward to the massage and shower after
the race." |

Asa Skipp [4 hours 39 minutes]
"I have run the marathon three times for
CRY, twice in a costume, and this was my fastest time. I would run
again.
I felt very nervous this year, not sure
why - maybe because I was running by myself this year. The crowd
mistook my heart costume for a 'Babybel'! In previous years I
have also been called an apple, strawberry and an M&M!
The post-race massage very good - they
not only massaged my legs but anywhere that hurt." |
|

Tara Slinger [4 hours 2 minutes]
"I still can't believe I completed my
first London marathon.
The crowd support is fantastic - people
call your name and give you jellybeans and chocolate.
Loved the whole experience and would
definitely love to raise sponsorship for CRY again.
Thank you so much for the hospitality
after race; the massage, warm shower and sweet cup of tea was just
what I needed!" |

Hugo Lowry [3 hours 48 minutes]
"This was my second marathon. I
found it easier this time and enjoyed it more - although the last 5k
was a bit hard.
Very good crowd - and I was more aware
of them this time as I didn't listen to music." |
|

Karen Birch [6 hours]
"I kept thinking about my friend's son
Charlie who had died. The crowd were fantastic.
The cup of tea I had after the race was
the best I have ever had!" |

Lorraine and Richard Manlove
"We are both fine and surprisingly not
suffering much at all. Had a wonderful day, fantastic run and really
enjoyed the atmosphere. We saw three CRY hearts and met 5 other
runners in CRY vests; and had a chat with them all. Ric was
interviewed on BBC Essex radio on Monday morning CRY got a mention." |
