Mrs
Siti Sweeny or Lacy Connections, Gammon Walk, Barnstaple, Devon, spent four
months rehearsing routines with 10 young ladies, to ensure that Martyn would
have been proud - and they did a fantastic job.
Over 300 people attended and there was a tribute
song for Martyn played by Andrew Henderson (guitar) and Claire Elvins
(vocals), who beautifully played 'Time of Your Life' by Green Day.
I gave a presentation on the work of CRY and the
reasons behind my involvement.
Then there was the amazing fashion show, of all
the latest fashions in the lingerie department. Everyone enjoyed
themselves tremendously, whilst raising awareness and money for CRY.
Lots of Martyn's friends attended, and also many
friends of the family. It was brilliant because we made so many people
aware of the CRY and the work they do.
It
was a real team effort and all of my friends helped on the evening, and I
think some of them wanted to be in it!!
We had four sponsors for the evening covering
costs, so that all the money raised on the night could go to CRY. The
sponsors were N J Luckett Ltd; Cowling Commercial Ltd; Passmore Wright and
Company; and Cowling Levick.
Each of the models donated their £20 fee back to
CRY, which was a lovely and kind gesture. In all, the event
raised £2024.50 for the Martyn Luckett Memorial Fund.
