This was quite an emotional weekend
for us. It hit me that
Martyn had
actually gone, particularly when seeing a lot of his
school mates, but then it was a feeling of satisfaction
to think that we were doing some good to help youngsters
in the area.
There were 91 booked in on the
Saturday and 89 turned up; and on the Sunday just under
50 people were screened, with some coming in off the
street.
They were a lovely crowd from CRY -
we hit it off right away and I spent the whole of the
two days with them. We also joined them - my
husband John and I - for a meal on the Saturday
evening. We are now hoping to make this an annual
event, as I have had quite a few people approach me
since the event wishing they had taken up the offer.
We as a family have raised over
£20,000 since Martyn's death and there is £9,000 in the
memorial fund for screening.
I feel it was very professionally
done and thanks to all the CRY team for making the long
journey down to Cornwall.
