Raffles,
music, food, a disco and guest speakers made sure that the event was
thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Kevan Jones MP, Chairman of the CRY All Party
Parliamentary Group; Jack Doyle, CRY County Rep; and Jeff Morland, all gave
accounts of the work that CRY has been undertaking over the previous year,
and the fundraising efforts that the family and friends of Levon Morland had
been involved in.
Thanks to these fundraising efforts, Jeff
Morland was able to present Jack and Kevan with a £10,000 cheque for
CRY (left).
With
ticket sales for the event, raffle revenue, and sponsorship, the charity
evening raised a further £5371.54 for CRY.
Jeff said, "We have been successful in raising
quite a bit of money for CRY and we simply could not have done this without
the help of so many friends and supporters."
A special thanks was given to Jack Doyle and
Kevan Jones for their ongoing stalwart work; and to the sponsors of the
event, Roseberry Inns and Leisure (owners of the Chilton Lodge), Browell
Smith and Co. Solicitors, Thompson Solicitors, Rowley Ashworth Solicitors,
and Northumbrian Water Ltd.
