Newcastle Evening Chronicle - 19th July 2006

By Peter Young

Sharon Hodgson, MP for Gateshead East & Washington West, and Dave Anderson, MP for Blaydon, were at a Commons reception with Little Britain star David Walliams, fresh from his solo swim across the English Channel to support the work of Cardiac Risk in the Young.

The group works with cardiologists and family doctors to reduce the frequency of heart deaths among the young and the two MPs said: "We were both deeply moved by the testimonies of the young people who had suffered cardiac problems very early on in their lives.  One had a heart operation at the tender age of just three years old.  The group is very lucky to have the support of David Walliams, who can do much to help Little Britons everywhere."
