Cheques presented to Mayor's charities

Newtownabbey Times & East Antrim Times

14th June  2007

One of Lynn Frazer's final duties as her Mayoral year drew to a close was the presentation of cheques totalling £7,500 to charities as a result of her fund-raising activities.

Her three charities were the Make a Wish Foundation UK, CRY, and the Antrim Area Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

A recent golf day acted as the main fund-raising event during Alderman Frazer's year in office.  She also held collections in Ballyclare, Glengormley and Abbeycentre in the run-up to Christmas.

Speaking at a reception in Mossley Mill, Alderman Frazer said: "I am really pleased to be able to present my chosen charities with this money.  Each charity is very close to my heart and I know the funds will be put to good use.

"I would also like to thank everyone who helped support these charity events and collections during my year.  Thanks also to the local businesses for their support with sponsorship, donations, help in kind, particularly at the golf day."

The reception was also attended by representatives of businesses which supported golf day including main sponsor Laing Consulting, Kennedy Fitzgerald, Ostick Williams and Acheson & glover.
