North Wales Chronicle - 4th February 2005

By Mark Tami MP

This week I helped to launch a Welsh campaign to raise awareness of Sudden Death Syndrome.

The campaign by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) will see thousands of postcards sent to MPs urging them to join the all-party parliamentary group set up to promote awareness of this tragic syndrome.

I was one of the first members to join the group and I have managed to enlist a number of my colleagues

Many families in Flintshire have lost loved ones to sudden death syndrome and many are now actively involved in raising awareness.

Among them is Doreen Harley, who has done an excellent job in ensuring your sportsmen and women are screened for the condition.
