Family and friends of a teenager who died in her
sleep raised more than £700 for charity at an event marking the first
anniversary of her death.
Camilla Irvine, from Bredale, North Yorkshire,
died in September last year, at a friend's house, aged 16.
Her parents, Wendy and David Irvine, held a party
at their home last weekend, in honour of their daughter.
Mrs Irvine said: "The evening was Milla's 18th,
21st and wedding rolled into one.
"We knew it would be difficult, and our way of
dealing with it was to surround ourselves with 300 of our friends and
Milla's.
"Guests partied, in Milla's honour, until the
early hours. A 'midnight challenge' was arranged and £741 was put into
the collection box. We were stunned by everyone's generosity."
The collection will be given to the Camilla Irvine
Memorial Fund, managed by the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Ripon Grammar School, where Camilla was a student
before leaving for post-16 study in Richmond, recently held a week of
charity events, with CRY among the beneficiaries.
