A charity football match has been played for the fourth year running in honour of two teenagers who tragically died from cancer and heart problems. 

The tribute match at Jubilee Hall playing field in Londdon, was organised by former school pals of Mat Green and Kevin Sayer in memory of the two sports-mad youngsters. 

Kevin of Bergh Apton died in 1995 aged 18 from the heart condition cardiomyopathy and 19-year-old Matthew from Hales, died in April 2004 from a rare type of cancer, teratoma, which affects the heart and lungs.

Both of the teenagers had played for Loddon United FC. 

A tombola raffle and special programme helped raise money at the match which will be split between Cardiac Risk in the Young, CRY, in memory of Kevin and the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey where Matthew received cancer treatment. 

Postman Colin Forder, 31,from Loddon, who captained one of the teams at Sunday's match and knew both Matt and Kevin, said: "Every time we have held a match it has been well attended.  Our aim as always is just to remember the lads in the best way we know how and raise money for the two charities."
