Staff at First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) raised
more than £1,500 during their annual charity bike ride. Three cheques
of £515 have been presented to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, Cardiac
Risk in the Young and Children's Leukaemia Care Fund at the Pendlebury
Hospital.
The group cycled 140 miles cost to coast from
Whitehaven to Sunderland. FCHO chief executive Hugh Broadbent said:
"This was the 10th year running myself and a group of intrepid cyclists have
done a long distance ride for charity. It wasn't easy but we trained
hard and we all got through it."
A minibus carrying the back-up team supported the
group thanks to sponsors Connaught, New Image (PR) Ltd., Lord Group, Pannone
Solicitors, Trowers and Hamlin, Apollo Heating and Northgate Information
Systems.
Hugh Broadbent presents the cheques to Frank
Bilton and his daughter, Bethany, of the Children's Leukaemia Care Fund,
Angela Morris, from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, and Gary Livesey, from
