There are three types of
parachute jump available - a 'Tandem Skydive'
from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor; a 'Static Line' jump which is performed solo from up to
3,000 feet; and an 'Accelerated Freefall' jump which is performed solo
from 10,000 feet. You can jump from any one of 25 British Parachute
Association approved airfields across the UK.
We ask you to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship money in order for you
to be able to jump for free (between £360 and £535 depending on the type
of jump you choose). CRY will receive an average of £140 from every single jump
(and a minimum of £100).

"I drove home, they were on such a high, no way was I going to let anyone of them loose on the motorway going home.
Now they are wondering how they can beat a freefall parachute jump for thrills, any ideas?"

Isy's day at Hinton.
"When I first arrived at Hinton Airfield I had to fill in a medical
form and hand over my sponsorship money. I then met my Tandem
Master, Bill, and he explained to me what I had to do and helped me
with my jumpsuit and harness. It was a really lovely day, with
beautiful clear blue skies and bright sunshine, but it was very windy
and I had to wait for the wind to drop before I could do my jump.
Eventually I boarded the plane and Bill attached my harness to his and
gave me my final instructions. I had expected to be very
nervous, but everything was so well organised and everyone was so calm
and professional that I felt fine, even when the time came to jump
from the plane. The freefall lasted 40 seconds at about 130mph
and it was amazing - just like flying! I loved it, but was still
relieved to see the chute open safely above me. The landing was
very smooth, although the strong wind meant that several people were
waiting on the ground to stop me being blown backwards, and that was
that! I have wanted to do a parachute jump for ages and now I
want to do it again - it was brilliant and I raised about £400.00 for
CRY! A good day."
