Sevenoaks to speak to pupils about CRY and raise awareness of the dangers of

Raising Awareness at King's College, London - 18th to
19th September 2008

Hamid - President of the Cardiology Society at King's College, London - fronted
a CRY information stand at the college's "Welcome Fair" event. The stand
was successful both in terms of raising awareness of CRY, and in attracting new
members to the Cardiology Society. |

Raising Awareness at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals' Fun
Sports Day - 15th August 2008
Pfizer
Pharmaceuticals wished to donate some of the proceeds of their Fun Sports Day to
CRY, and invited CRY County Representative Rosemary Attridge to attend the event
and run a stall to help raise awareness of CRY. |

London Triathlon - 9th August 2008

Brooks and Alex Unitt entered the London Triathlon to raise money and awareness
for CRY in memory of a former school friend of Tom's. |

CRY Heart of London
Bridges Walk - 20th July 2008
Following the success of
CRY's inaugural Heart of
London Bridges Sponsored Walk in 2007 the event took place again in
2008, with over 600 CRY supporters in attendance. CRY Patron Kathryn Harries once again
led the walk, crossing 8 London bridges - each bridge representing one
of the 8 fit and healthy young people (aged 35 and under) who die
suddenly each week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions. |

King's College Abseil - 6th July 2008
A group
of fearless CRY supporters took part in an abseiling event at King's College on
July 6th, to raise money and awareness for CRY. |

London to Paris Bike Ride - 2nd to 5th July
2008
Shona
Oxley completed this 285-mile cycling challenge to raise money and awareness for
CRY. Despite suffering punctures and enduring hills, Shona enjoyed
stunning scenery on the route and met lots of interesting fellow cyclists. |

Architectural Ltd held their first ever charity golf day to raise money and
awareness for CRY and the Prostate Cancer Charity. |

Sanderson and Mark Brown completed the Great North Walk to raise money and
awareness for CRY in memory of Kasia Ber. |

Adam Donnelly Memorial Ball - 28th June 2008
This
evening event in Swanley featured a 4-course meal, wine, dancing and a charity
auction. As well as raising awareness, over £6000 was raised for CRY, in
memory of Adam Donnelly. |

Lands End to John O'Groats Cycle Ride - 14th to 26th
June 2008
Mike
Aylott and Adam Austin cycled 934 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats, to
raise money and awareness for CRY, in memory of Mike's fiancee (and Adam's
friend), Jane Starr. Jane died suddenly in May 2006 of an undiagnosed
heart condition - later identified as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - aged just
33. |

Coffee morning in memory of Paul McGlynn -
14th June 2008
Joan
McGlynn organised a fundraising coffee morning to raise money and awareness for
CRY in memory of her son Paul. The event featured plenty of delicious
cakes, plus a tombola, bran-tub and crafts. |

Race Across America - The World's Toughest Bicycle Race -
11th to 18th June 2008
The CRY Team of Richard Ball, Clive
Middleton, Greg Whyte and Mat Wilson have successfully completed the daunting
3000-mile Race Across America (RAAM) cycle race and achieved their goal of a top
3 finish!

Sponsored walk in memory of David
Cochrane - 3rd May 2008
Lodge
Hopetoun St. John No. 1232, a small Masonic Lodge located in Linlithgow,
West Lothian, organised a 15-mile sponsored walk
from “The Falkirk Wheel”
to Linlithgow. This is the third year in a row that the Lodge has
held fundraising events for CRY in memory of Lodge member David
Cochrane, who died suddenly in 2006 aged just 22. |

"Stars in the Club's Eyes" and Family Fun
Day in memory of Stevie Wiggins - April / May 2008
Money was raised for the Stevie Wiggins Memorial Fund
within CRY, through two events held at Preston Grasshoppers rugby club -
a "Stars in the Club's Eyes" talent show; and a Family Fun Day (the latter
combined with a rugby match). |

Despite gloomy weather predictions, Haslemere Lawn Tennis
Club (HLTC) held an extremely successful junior doubles tournament in aid of CRY
(Cardiac Risk in the Young) on Monday 14th April.

The Coyote Rally 2008 - 5th to 9th April 2008
The Stay
Puft Appreciation Society entered the 2008 Coyote Rally to raise money and
awareness for CRY. Driving an old Mercedes estate car, the team travelled
1486 miles around Europe in 4 days. |

Charity Show in memory of Nathan Butler -
March 2008
A
grand charity show was recently held at Cobridge Coronation Club, Stoke on
Trent, to raise money for CRY and Mencap. The show featured comedy, music and
dancing, and the sell-out night was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. |

On Saturday, 1st March, 31 pupils at
Grooves
plus Hannah Holmes, the parent who nominated CRY, danced to a variety of tracks
in front of a hall full of supporters. Some of the dancers were only 2 years
old! |

Kasia Ber. The evening featured a hypnotist; auction and a disco.
