Event Write Ups - 2012

These write ups show the enormous range of fundraising and raising awareness events that take place in aid of CRY.  They are a great source of ideas, and give a good indication of what various types of event involve.

Book Sale in memory of Tom Clabburn - 22nd May 2012

Claire Prosser, Paul Clabburn and friends raised £1,212 from a book sale in Ealing. It's the 8th sale since Claire and Paul's son Tom Clabburn died aged 14 - and raised a record amount. The money raised will go to Tom's fund at CRY to support heart screenings in the area.

Cambridge Half Marathon 2012 in Memory of Joe Herrington - 11th March 2012
On Sunday 11th March a team of 21 friends and family took part in the Cambridge Half Marathon in memory of Joe Herrington and have so far raised an amazing £8,292.03 from their run.

An Evening With Bill Neely - 27th January 2012
On Friday 27th January 2012 a special evening was planned with CRY patron, Bill Neely, to raise money for CRY and Little Missenden Infant School. A late call away to the Falklands for work for Bill, meant the evening had to be saved by a colleague James Mates who stepped in and helped raise a wonderful £1,020.79 for CRY.

 

Charity Fundraising Evening in Memory of Paul Wilkins - 21st January 2012
Saturday 21st January saw around 250 people gather together to remember a fantastic young man who was taken too soon. Paul Wilkins passed away on his 22nd birthday whilst celebrating with friends, life for his family and friends has never been the same since.

 

Grafton Centre Awareness Stand in Memory of Joe Herrington - 18th January 2012
Brad and Daniela Harrington, along with their friends and family, held an awareness stand in the Grafton Shopping Centre in Cambridge on Saturday 18th January 2012. They managed to hand out a wonderful 1500 leaflets and received £75.00 in donations at the stand.
 

Brazilian Football Tournament - 2nd January 2012

On Monday 2nd January 2012, Matt Day (Founder and Manager for The Barnabas Sports Trust) celebrated his 40th birthday by holding a Brazilian football tournament to raise money for CRY and The Barnabas Sports Trust
