memory of Mark Marden - 2011
"Throughout 2011, Pam
Dickins, Kevin Blazer & the Marden Family have been fundraising for CRY,
in Memory of Mark Marden, who sadly left us at the age of 18 and also
for The Sick Children’s Trust for Kevin’s son who had a rare form of
cancer when he was just 6 weeks old.

To support

University Rowing Club. Having lost a former rower Dr. Jennifer Bucknell

The launch party was held at The Jubilee
Hall in West Rainton, County Durham and was attended by friends and
family of Steve Percival and his band: Nick Phillips, Paul Stevens,

Colin Nicholson, Bruce Macdonald Lowes, Barry Henderson, Jeff Morland,
John and Elaine Lawler and Richard Rowley.

St. Edward's College, Liverpool, continue to raise funds for CRY
through a variety of activities including cake sales and sponsored
events. Their main activity however, is
a
'Light a Life' Appeal which takes place during Advent: those who
have been lost are remembered with hearts which are displayed on
trees which are lit up. |

AUCB Leggit in
memory of Nick Jarram - 18th April 2011
My name is Caitlin Mogridge and I attend
the Arts University College in Bournemouth. Myself and a friend,
Mell Oliver undertook a charity hitch hike on April 18th called 'Leggit'
and we decided to raise money for CRY. We came to this decision for
many reasons, but mainly because our coursemate and friend Nick
Jarram sadly died of an undiagnosed heart condition in 2009. |

"V in Pictures" Photography Exhibition -
9th & 16th April 2011
James
McCauley has been the official photographer for the V Festival since
1995. He has also been the official photographer at many CRY
events, such as the annual CRY Parliamentary Reception at
Westminster.
James provided a selection of images for the "V in Pictures"
photography exhibition and also nominated CRY as the charity to
benefit from sales of prints at the exhibition. |

London and Midlands Teams Charity Fundraising Day - 4th
March 2011
On Friday 4th March 2011, it was the turn of the London and Midlands
(non-Early Adopter) teams to run a charity fundraising day. The
charity chosen was CRY as this charity meant a lot to one member of
the team - Jordan Priestley - who lost his good friend Tom Reid to
young sudden cardiac death. |

Jade Missing organised a Summer Fete at Tops Day Nursery in Portsmouth, to raise
funds for CRY and Cancer Research. The fete featured a puppet show, face

sale in memory of Philippa Harbour - 21st September 2010
Steve Harbour’s daughter, Philippa, who was a former pupil at
Antony school, died from sudden cardiac death in 2003. Philippa was an ardent
collector of ‘Beanie Babies’ and Steve came up with the idea of donating the
’Beanie Babies’ to the children of Antony school who organised a sale to raise
much needed funds. |

Fair - 19th & 20th June 2010
The Ballynure Village Fair 2010 featured all kinds of activities and attractions
including craft stalls, barbecue, tug-o-war, rubber duck race, face-painting,

I work
for Tesco and with the help of my colleagues we set about a fundraising event.
We all wore football shirts and had two days of collecting in store. The
customers and staff and played a big part in this. Next we held a quiz night
and local companies all donated prizes to be raffled, both events were a great

School fundraising week
We
managed to raise an amazing £10,500, and this money was gained
through a different array of activities and events. We
began on Friday 31st January doing an all day Asda bag pack, which
raised £1500. This event went on for the entire day; I must say we had plenty
of volunteers during the 9:10 to 3.25 slot!

Open Day or what a blooming weekend by Sylvia Salisbury
The first day dawned fresh and
clear – Er well, actually, no it didn't. For the beginning of
June, it was unseasonably cold and wet. This was the
culmination of our own personal marathon; we had been growing plants
for months. What had seemed like a good idea, had now turned
into an uphill battle just to keep everything watered.
