Christopher Gent swims in
memory of Elizabeth Gent - June & July 2011
After having completed the Great London
Swim last year, I swore that I would not do any more open-water
swimming again – ever! So I am rather surprised to find myself
having done both the Great North Swim and the Great London Swim this
year. I swam to raise money for CRY, in memory of my daughter,
Elizabeth, who died of an undiagnosed cardiac condition five days
before her 21st birthday in 2006. |

Zoe
Teale Memorial Swimming Gala - 30th October 2010
Sue Dukes organised a charity swimming gala to raise awareness and funds for CRY
in memory of Zoe Teale. South Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson attended the
event to help collect donations and present the Zoe Teale Memorial Trophy to the
winning team. |

Preston Swimming Club
swim for CRY
Preston Swimming Club took part in a
sponsored swim for CRY in which 95 swimmers swam varying distances,
from the youngest members swimming 100 meters to the senior swimmers
completing 5000 meters in the allotted pool time.

Salford Swim - 26th September 2010
Sarah Morgan completed the Great Salford Swim - a 1 mile open water swim at
Salford Quays - to raise money and awareness for CRY. |

Channel Swim - 21st September 2010
Fuelled by jaffa cakes and followed by playful porpoises, Chris Walsh
successfully swam across the chilly English Channel to raise money and awareness

Following the cancellation of the Great North Swim, Jude Burgess made
alternative arrangements to undertake a one-mile open water swim to raise funds

Oxford to Guildford, in memory of Rob Allan - 18th to 23rd July 2010
Liam Blackman and Lewis Sutehall rowed 104 miles from Oxford to Guildford to
raise money for CRY in memory of Rob Allan. |

open water swim - 11th July 2010
Chris Smith entered a 1 mile open water swim race in Ullswater, to raise money
and awareness for CRY. |

Ernest Bevin College
screening and launch of CRY "swimathons" - 29th June 2010
Students at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting were screened by CRY's expert team
of doctors prior to commencing a week of sponsored swimming events to raise
funds for CRY. GB Rowing's Matt Wells - CRY Patron and Olympic bronze
medallist - was also at the event to lend his support. |

'Team Dedward'
charity row: Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race - 3rd / 4th April 2010
After months of training, David Woodcock and Edward Higgins entered the daunting
125-mile Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race to raise money and awareness for CRY
and Help for Heroes. This was a particularly challenging endeavour as both
David and Edward began their training as complete novices when it came to
canoeing! |

Kayak around the Isle of
Wight - 11th August 2009
Nick Tissot and Ed Coley decided to try and kayak around the Isle of Wight in
under 24 hours, to raise funds and awareness for CRY. |

Charity rowing event in memory of Debbie Rendle -
18th October 2008
Mousehole
Rowing Club organised a charity rowing event to raise money and awareness for
CRY. The event was in memory of Debbie Rendle, a former coach at the club
who died suddenly in February 2007. |

Sponsored Swim in memory of Kasia Ber - 14th January
2007
I went
through three and a half weeks of hard gym swimming training, which was
extremely tiring but it was worth it. I dare say I lost 3 stone in a day, hardly
surprising after what I ate over Christmas! |

Sebastian English - 14th to 17th April 2006
Jon Peatman and Bruce Buckland-Wilson from Lord
Wandsworth College battled wind, rain and aggressive swans to complete this
125-mile canoe race. The pair were raising money and awareness for CRY, in
memory of Sebastian English. |

Water Rafting in Memory of Brian Southern
After
that second run, we were all very weary about just how powerful this
little river in Wales actually was, we were all holding on as tight
as possible, as we went down on our third run. |
