Fundraisers will be dancing in the street this weekend at the annual Charlotte Day event in Clyde Street, Sheerness.

And this year for the first time, the party fun will be spread over two days. 

Attractions on Saturday include a display of classic cars, the scary Sheppey Zulus, tarot card readings, various stalls, a tug-of-war and bar. 

On Sunday, the Blacksmiths Arms in Clyde Street has a pool competition and raffle, as well as screening of the World Cup final for those still with a will to watch, now that England is out of the competition. 

Live music by former member of the Sweet, Mick Kenton, and landlord of the Blacksmiths Arms, Mark Black will be provided on both days.  And on Saturday, listeners will be treated to a performance by our former news editor and popular columnist John Nurden as he tries to rekindle the hippy era with his own version of "Nurdstock".   

To fill those hungry tummies, a barbecue will be on the go all day.  The fun starts at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday and continues until late. 

The event was started by Karen Williams after her daughter died of sudden death syndrome aged eight in 2002. 

Money raised goes to Demelza House, Preston Skreens and Cardiac Risk in the Young.
