A landlord is urging
people to hot foot it to his put next month as part of a charity event.
Paul
Clarke, from The Mill at Rode, is offering people the chance to walk over
hot coals on August 7 to help raise money for the Frome charity Cardiac
Risk in the Young.
And
the pub is inviting people to get their own back on their boss,
colleagues, friends or a family member by nominating them to take part in
the event.
All
people have to do is fax details of the nominee, the reason why they are
being nominated and a contact number for the person making the nomination
to The Mill on 01373 813789 and the pub will choose the best entries.
The
walker with the best nomination will win a meal-for-four at The Mill and
ten runners-up will receive a month’s supply of Badger Ales.
As
part of the preparation for the event, Mr Clarke is also employing an
unusual form of advertising.
He
said: “One of the breweries we use offered to loan us a plane that they
use for advertising and we thought it sounded like a great idea.
“The
plane will be flying around the town on the Friday before the challenge,
so people should keep an eye out for it.”
