The Lord Mayor of Swansea's boules tournament
trophy has been formally presented for the eighth year after another
successful event.
It took place as usual in the marine when 16 teams
battled it out for glory - and raised £2,969 in the process. It takes
the total raised for the Lord Mayor's charity appeals to £24,000.
This year's money is going to the South Wales
branch of Cardiac Risk in the Young, as well as groups dealing with children
with special needs.
They were the choice of immediate past Lord Mayor
Mair Gibbs, who is pictured presenting the trophy to Malcolm Humphreys,
captain of winning team, Landore Boulers. Alongside him is Gary Owen,
landlord of the Queen's Hotel, joint tournament organisers with Swansea Bay
Rotary Club and the Evening Post.
