Strabane's traditional music group, CRAIC, had the
chance this week to meet Tyrone GAA manager, Mickey Harte, and some of the
All-Ireland winning players at Strabane's district council offices.
During the event, the local band spoke about their
forthcoming charity performance at the Alley Theatre, Strabane, in aid of
health awareness charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young.
This hardworking charity aims to raise awareness
amongst young people and parents about the need for cardiac screening,
especially among children taking part in sport.
Endorsing the event on November 14, members of the
Tyrone GAA seniors also urged all of the Tyrone fans to come out in force
and support this show.
"It was a great honour to meet the Tyrone manager
and the players, and they wished us the very best of luck for our
forthcoming charity event at the Alley Theatre," Paul McCosker from CRAIC
said.
"The CRAIC performance starts at 8pm, with some
special guests expected to arrive. However, it's top secret at the
moment. We also hope to have a fantastic raffle prize on offer, which
money simply cannot buy. The raffle will only be available on the
night to patrons booking tickets for the show, so book now at the Alley on
(028) 7 384444."
Nathan Flatman, from the Alley Theatre, added:
"CRAIC are back again at the Alley after the success of Johnny Crampsie
Festival, this time in aid of a wonderful charity aimed at helping young
people within our own community. All money raised on the night will go
towards Northern Ireland projects, thanks to the kind sponsorship of
Supervalu of Strabane and the Strabane Weekly News.
"The night will start at 7pm with great food on
offer and then the concert will start at 8pm. Featuring the very best
in traditional music, this will be a great night out for all music fans.
If you have never seen CRAIC perform before then this is a unique chance to
catch this wonderful band on show at the intimate Alley Theatre."
Tickets are priced at £5 and are available from
the Alley Box Office on Tel (028)7138 4444 or book online at
