Grieving parents join campaign

Sunderland Echo - 4th December 2006

The heartbroken parents of Kasia Ber have launched a campaign to stop other families losing loved ones to rare heart conditions.

An inquest heard how 17-year-old Kasia had a condition known as Long QT syndrome and may have died last December after being startled by her mobile phone ringing, having suffered a heart arrhythmia brought on by her condition.

Her devastated parents John and Diane Ber, of Brier Avenue, Horden, have now joined forces with the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity campaign to prevent young people dying of undetected heart conditions.
