The anxious wit for the family of tragic
Matt Gadsby to find out if his three sisters suffer from the same condition
that killed him is finally over.
All three girls got the all-clear from doctors
last week.
"It was very emotional", explained Matt's dad
Andrew, aged 49.
"We've had to live with that as well as everything
else but the test showed no signs of anything."
Sutton-born Matt collapsed and died six months
ago, 20 minutes into a match between his club, Hinckley United, and
Harrogate.
Paramedics fought to save the 27-year-old's life
for an h our before he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An inquest into his death recorded a verdict of
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) - Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular
Cardiomyopathy.
But last week the family was told that Matt's
sister Rachel, aged 26, Amy, aged 21 and 15-year-old Emily showed no signs
of the condition.
The 'fantastic' news came just days before a
charity football match taking place on Sunday (April 1) to raise money for
the Matthew Gadsby Memorial Fund.
Excitement is building for the event which will
see Hinckley United and a group of Matt's old team mates (the Gadsby Select
XI) from Walsall FC, Kidderminster Harriers, Mansfield Town and Forest Green
Rovers play some of the country's best-loved football legends.
The memorial match will star soccer greats Bryan
Robson, Matt le Tissier, Steve McClaran, Peter Shilton and Jan Molby
