I'm a 56-year-old entertainer attempting to run my first London marathon on behalf of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). 

I was born with a heart defect, which was detected early on. 

The last operation I had was in 1979 when I was fitted with a mechanical aortic valve, which is still ticking away.
